I had then recently completed my Leaving Certificate examination and I came to Dublin with my Father and Mother to welcome JFK. We went to the Exchange Hotel on Parliament Street as we knew the motorcade would pass that way. We were looking out from windows on the first floor and as JFK passed by he looked up and waved to us. The Exchange hotel is no longer in existence.
