I was a member of the RTE concert Orchestra playing the violin. 2 violinists and a cellist were invited to perform at the state dinner in Dublin Castle. We played on the balcony and serenaded the President through the dinner with Classical and Irish music. The President was sitting at a table with a big white cake in front of him, which he put his finger into, and licked the icing. I had a good view of what happened throughout the evening.
