As a fifteen year old lad I remember hanging from an Esb pole as the JFK calacade was travelling down the south mall heading towards the city hall.In 2002 I went to visit JFK museum in Boston and in amongest all the treasured gifts he had received from his travels to various countries was the gift from lord mayor of cork I felt very proud that I was there on his visit to cork in 1963.
