Half day from school on O’Connell Street
Tony Finn
I was on O’Connell Street with my mother during the visit, on a half day from school. The visit was very exciting for us; our family had a shrine to Kennedy in our house. We pushed our way to the front, waiving our flags. I remember him waving as he went pass. I remember big crowds during the visit. We did not own a television to watch the rest of his visit, so we hired a television from Britten’s Dawson street to see it. I collected stamps, and afterwards I collected Kennedy stamps from around the world.
