Guinness is Good for You!

I grew up in West Essex St. and was excited to hear that President Kennedy would be passing close by in Parliament St. When I got there the crowds were at least three deep and at eight years old I couldn’t see a thing. However, thanks to a friendly barman in the County Bar, I was able to borrow an empty beer crate which gave me enough height to get a perfect view as the cavalcade passed by. The image is seared in my memory and is as vivid today as it was fifty years ago.
