My grandfather, Andy Minihan was the Lord Mayor of New Ross at the time of Kennedy’s visit. There was great excitement among the whole family that my grandfather would be host to President Kennedy while he was in New Ross. That evening my mother, Mary Elizabeth accompanied my grandfather to the State dinner at Iveagh House. Over the years my mother has kept a tablecloth where she has embroidered lots of signatures. Included is the signature of Ted Kennedy which is dated 26 February 1962.
