Colonel Mortimer Buckley at New Ross

This is a photograph of my father Colonel Mortimer Buckley. He was the commanding officer of 32nd Battalion which was the first battalion to be sent to the Congo in July 1960. During President Kennedy’s visit he was invited to many of the official occasions. In this photograph he is standing beside Eunice Kennedy Shriver.
